Hello Wedding Season! - Why Boho Weddings Are More Popular Than Ever

ART OF LIVING: CHAPTER 2 - Call of the Wild Reading Hello Wedding Season! - Why Boho Weddings Are More Popular Than Ever 3 minutes

We are full steam ahead into the busiest time of year for wedding venues across the country. Boho weddings are trending for 2024 with women looking for a no-nonsense approach to their wedding wardrobe, they are on the hunt for dresses that are more versatile, more comfortable and of course more sustainable.

Well-made and sustainable garments that are incredibly comfortable are exactly what we are after this season.

The modern boho wedding is an environmentally conscious event and we are all aware of the impact they make on the planet, with sustainability at the forefront of our minds, Activist Livia Firth coined the term “the 30-wear rule” which is a simple way of decoding if something you will purchase or have purchased is sustainable.

We are all guilty of picking up a new outfit for a special event, but instead of purchasing something you might never wear again why don’t you opt for something that you keep pulling out of your closet time and time again. Something that you can dress up or down and has the versatility to be more than just a wedding shirt but something you are not afraid to wear 30 or more times.

Finding brands that create quality apparel that stand the test of time, align with your ethics and make you feel fabulous can be tricky.

Choosing brands that utilise natural fibres and fabrics that are good for your skin and body, but also biodegradable and don’t shed harmful micro plastics into our environment is a good start. Opt for garments constructed with plant-based fibres, linen and cotton are the first that come to mind, but silk and rayon blends are just as popular with a lot more textures being made from a variety of blends.

Choosing brands that are implementing environmentally friendly practices such as making smaller batches of styles so as not to contribute to textile waste in landfill, brands that have carbon offset programs, brands that have more transparency in the way they show up to the fashion world to create a better future for people and planet.

The rise in popularity of the boho wedding isn’t just because of the enviro conscious babes that are getting married it is also an ode to individuality.

The boho wedding is a couple’s opportunity to show what makes their bond special, opting for venues or locations that give off a more relaxed and casual atmosphere where the connection between bride and groom can really shine.

As we venture into the future of weddings and traditional standards are relaxed people can be more unique, the boho wedding eases us into radical acceptance and paves the way for even more creative expression in places we haven’t seen before.

We hope everyone gets to experience a Boho wedding this year ... to dance underneath the stars on a sandy beach barefoot or beneath the canopy of a rainforest celebrating love,

surrounded by love,

wearing something you love.
